broke springs campground

Our little boondocking site earned itself a nickname after our February camping trip, our friends Greg and Denise had a leaf spring on their trailer snap near the mounting bolt. Greg had replaced all four springs before this trip and he made a sign for the site we returned to. I’m going to find a smoother trail for us to go on for our winter/spring desert camping in Queen Valley. We love the weather, sunsets and short distance from town. On the way out to the highway, we came slowly through the last 50 feet before the gate and cattle guard, this trip we got twisted up pretty good and snapped a weld joint on the firewall that supports the dash, it was pretty wild looking watching the dash go above & below the bottom edge of the windshield. It will be an easy fix but I’m not coming back on this trail again, time to spot a better trail.

The dropped R looks like the leaf spring’s on Greg & Denise’s trailer!
Can’t beat spring in the desert (of course it way colder up in the pines)
Relaxing after cornhole, cards, just waiting on a campfire now!
Really roughing it with the Bloody Mary bar!
Love the sunsets we get every evening!
Here’s the weld that popped coming out of the area we camp, wasn’t hard to find the 3/8″ gap when I opened the engine compartment access panel!
