Seems we don’t get to come to Texas as often as we would like to any more but our Grandson Kaleb is 18 in 2018 so decided to get there for this one. Once they get to 15 the kids and grandkids are more excited about going out with friends than family but if we get a few hours with them it’s worth the trip and more time than that is a bonus.
There’s been a big re-org in the works for months and reliable sources said the team I’m on is going to get hit hard sometime in March. I debated taking the trip but knew from past layoffs that if you’re one of the casualties they’ll wait until you return from a vacation so decided not to put off this trip. I have a good severance built up so I pondered volunteering for this one, after talking to one of my former managers, she gave me plenty of reasons to just ride it out and see what happens.
Since it wasn’t spring break, we knew we’re going to have to entertain ourselves during the weekdays on this trip. Alice and I figured we would get a chance to see my Aunt and cousins that live in the Dallas area on this trip. We were able to see my Aunt a couple years ago on a previous trip so it will be great to see her again. We also found out about a Vintage Car Museum that we checked out on a week day.
